PLANNED PARENTHOOD OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS, WHICH INCLUDES HEALTH CENTERS IN COLORADO, SOUTHERN NEVADA, AND NEW MEXICO, HAS BEEN HELPING INDIVIDUALS MAKE RESPONSIBLE CHOICES FOR OVER 103 YEARS.PPRM EMPOWERS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE TO MAKE INFORMED CHOICES ABOUT THEIR SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH BY PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY HEALTH SERVICES, COMPREHENSIVE SEX EDUCATION AND STRATEGIC ADVOCACY.IT IS THE VISION OF PPRM TO LEAD OUR REGION'S EFFORTS AND BE THE STRONGEST VOICE TO ENSURE AN INDIVIDUAL'S RIGHT AND ABILITY TO ACCESS REPRODUCTIVE AND SEXUAL HEALTH CARE IN CHANGING FINANCIAL AND POLITICAL CLIMATES. WITH INCREASED PHILANTHROPY AND INNOVATION, PPRM IS COMMITTED TO MEETING OUR REGION'S NEEDS.PPRM IS A LEADER IN ADVANCING AND PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE, MEDICALLY ACCURATE, AND AGE-APPROPRIATE SEX EDUCATION. PPRM OFFERS BOTH LONG- AND SHORT-TERM PROGRAMS DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUTH AS WELL AS EDUCATION FOR ADULT LEARNERS.
EDUCATION, ADVOCACY & PATIENT- CENTERED SEXUAL & REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE, INCLUDING ABORTION CARE.
IN FISCAL YEAR 2019, ROCKY MOUNTAIN PLANNED PARENTHOOD SERVED OVER 94,401 CLIENTS AT OUR 24 HEALTH CENTERS THROUGHOUT OUR THREE-STATE REGION - COLORADO, NEVADA, AND NEW MEXICO. THE MAJORITY OF OUR CLIENTS SEEK FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES SUCH AS CONTRACEPTIVES, PREGNANCY TESTING, GYNECOLOGICAL OR MID-LIFE CARE, AND LAB TESTS FOR PRE-CANCER SCREENING, HIV AND OTHER SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES. TWELVE PERCENT OF OUR PATIENTS RECEIVED ABORTION SERVICES IN FY 2019. TWENTY-ONE PERCENT OF OUR PATIENTS ARE AT OR BELOW 100 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL POVERTY LEVEL. AT THIS LEVEL, INDIVIDUALS EARN AN AVERAGE INCOME OF LESS THAN $12,490 PER YEAR. SEVENTY-THREE PERCENT OF PPRM'S PATIENTS ARE EITHER SELF PAY OR MEDICAID. MANY OF THE SELF-PAY PATIENTS HAVE INSURANCE COVERAGE, BUT ARE UNABLE TO PAY THEIR DEDUCTIBLES. PPRM STRIVES TO SET FEES AT AFFORDABLE LEVELS. IN ADDITION, DISCOUNT AND CHARITABLE CARE PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO MEET THE FINANCIAL NEEDS OF THOSE WHO ARE UNABLE TO PAY FOR MEDICAL SERVICES.
THE RESPONSIBLE SEX EDUCATION INSTITUTE COLLABORATES WITH AGENCIES THROUGHOUT COLORADO, NEW MEXICO, WYOMING, AND NEVADA TO BRING YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS COMPREHENSIVE SEX EDUCATION. EVERY DAY PLANNED PARENTHOOD'S TEAM OF TRAINED EDUCATORS REACH PEOPLE WHO HAVE URGENT LIFE QUESTIONS AND WANT A SAFE, CONFIDENTIAL, UNBIASED SOURCE TO TURN TO FOR ACCURATE INFORMATION.IN FISCAL YEAR 2019, ROCKY MOUNTAIN PLANNED PARENTHOOD'S RESPONSIBLE SEX EDUCATION INSTITUTE PROVIDED 26,713 PEOPLE WITH MEDICALLY ACCURATE AND CULTURALLY RELEVANT COMPREHENSIVE SEXUAL HEALTH EDUCATION. WE HAVE NARROWED OUR FOCUS TO ENSURE THAT THE MOST MARGINALIZED POPULATIONS RECEIVE DIRECT EDUCATION WHILE EXPANDING OUR TRAININGS FOR YOUTH SERVING PROFESSIONALS AND SUPPORT OF PARENTS THROUGH A NEW TEXTLINE AND FACEBOOK PAGE.
