TACT IS A DENVER-BASED 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT THAT TEACHES TRADE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS TO INDIVIDUALS AGES 5-30 WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (ASD). WITH A FOCUS ON TRADE PROFESSIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS, TACT OFFERS THE ONLY PROGRAM OF ITS KIND IN THE COUNTRY. THROUGH ITS IMMERSIVE, HANDS-ON VOCATIONAL TRAINING, TACT PREPARES YOUNG INDIVIDUALS WITH ASD- WHO NOW REPRESENT ONE IN 59 CHILDREN, AGES 5 THROUGH 17- FOR SKILLED TRADE CAREERS, WHICH ARE ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING AND MOST DIFFICULT TO FILL PROFESSIONS IN THE COUNTRY. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 90% OF ADULTS WITH ASD ARE UNDER OR UNEMPLOYED. BY FOCUSING ON ONE OF THE MOST UNDERSERVED AND HIGH-POTENTIAL POPULATIONS, TACT HAS AN INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE HISTORICAL PATTERNS AND PAVE THE WAY FOR A MORE INCLUSIVE WORK FORCE.
