WONDERBOUND USES DANCE TO DEEPEN HUMANKIND'S COMMON BOND THROUGH UNCOMMON ENDEAVORS OF DISCOVERY AND CREATION.
WONDERBOUND OFFERS ITS COMMUNITY 4-6 ORIGINAL PRODUCTIONS EVERY SEASON. SEVEN YEARS AGO, WONDERBOUND BECAME THE ONLY CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPANY IN THE COUNTRY TO MAKE THE COMMITMENT TO LIVE MUSIC FOR ALL OF ITS REGULAR PRODUCTIONS. WONDERBOUND WORKS WITH THESE COLLABORATORS TO PROVIDE THE DENVER COMMUNITY WITH ARTS EXPERIENCES WOVEN FROM ITS CULTURAL FABRIC - EMPLOYING UPWARD OF 60 ARTISTS ANNUALLY. WONDERBOUND ALSO PROVIDES FREE TICKETS TO THESE PERFORMANCES FOR LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS, MEMBERS OF THE HOMELESS POPULATION AND DISADVANTAGED YOUTH. 8,000 PATRONS ATTENDED PERFORMANCES IN THE 2019-2020 FISCAL YEAR.
WONDERBOUND'S PARI PASSU, OR "EQUAL STEP," PROGRAM UTILIZES DANCE AS AN INSTRUMENT FOR POSITIVE SOCIAL CHANGE. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ST. FRANCIS CENTER AND COLORADO COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS, PARI PASSU OFFERS WEEKLY DANCE SESSIONS WITH THE HOMELESS POPULATION. WONDERBOUND'S REGISTERED DANCE MOVEMENT THERAPIST FACILITATES THE PROJECT, AND THE PROGRAM SERVES AS A CATALYST TO INSPIRE THE HOMELESS PARTICIPANTS TO REINTEGRATE INTO THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING A SENSE OF PURPOSE, CONNECTEDNESS AND RELEVANCE. 600 HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED IN PARI PASSU.
2.THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS OF WONDERBOUND SERVE SOME OF THE MOST NEEDY YOUTH ACROSS THE DENVER METRO AREA AND TARGET TITLE I SCHOOLS LOCATED IN UNDERSERVED GEOGRAPHIC AREAS. THE PROGRAMS ARE PRIMARILY GEARED TOWARD ELEMENTARY STUDENTS IN GRADES PRE-K THROUGH 5TH, THE MAJORITY OF WHICH ARE ON FREE-AND-REDUCED LUNCH PROGRAMS, LIVING WELL BELOW THE POVERTY LINE. WONDERBOUND PROVIDES THESE INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES IN 40 SCHOOLS ANNUALLY.20,000 AT RISK ELEMENTARY STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS DURING FISCAL 2019-2020.
