Organizations Filed Purposes: EXCELLENCE IN SCHOLARSHIP AND CHARACTER IS THE GOAL OF A KENT DENVER EDUCATION. THE SCHOOL SEEKS TO BUILD A CARING, DIVERSE COMMUNITY OF RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS. TO THAT END, THE SCHOOL PROVIDES A CHALLENGING COLLEGE PREPARATORY CURRICULUM AND SETS HIGH ETHICAL STANDARDS.

EXCELLENCE IN SCHOLARSHIP AND CHARACTER IS THE GOAL OF A KENT DENVER EDUCATION.

KENT DENVER SCHOOL (THE SCHOOL) IS AN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL FOR GRADES SIX THROUGH TWELVE, LOCATED IN CHERRY HILLS VILLAGE, COLORADO. THE MISSION OF THE SCHOOL IS TO TRANSFORM LIVES OF STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY THROUGH EXTRAORDINARY EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES. THE SCHOOL'S OBJECTIVE IS TO WORK WITH FAMILIES TO ENCOURAGE INTELLECTUAL CURIOSITY, INDEPENDENT THINKING, AND MORAL DEVELOPMENT IN STUDENTS, AND TO ESTABLISH A FOUNDATION FOR LEARNING IN COLLEGE AND THROUGHOUT LIFE. THE SCHOOL PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL INSTRUCTION TO APPROXIMATELY 700 STUDENTS, AND FUNDS ITS OPERATIONS PRIMARILY FROM TUITION, FEES, CONTRIBUTIONS AND INVESTMENT INCOME.THE SCHOOL ALSO CONDUCTS THE BREAKTHROUGH PROGRAM (THE PROGRAM) THROUGH WHICH IT OFFERS A RIGOROUS ACADEMIC CURRICULUM FOR MOTIVATED DENVER PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS AT NO COST TO THE STUDENTS OR THEIR FAMILIES. APPROXIMATELY 185 MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS, PRIMARILY FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES, PARTICIPATE IN THE SIX-WEEK PROGRAM, WHICH IS TAUGHT BY HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE STUDENTS. A MENTORSHIP PROGRAM CONTINUES THROUGH THE ACADEMIC YEAR, DURING WHICH HIGH SCHOOL TUTORS MEET WEEKLY WITH THE PROGRAM STUDENTS. THE SCHOOL'S FINANCIAL STATEMENTS INCLUDE THE ACTIVITIES OF THE PROGRAM.THE OUTBREAK OF THE 2019 CORONAVIRUS DISEASE ("COVID-19"), WHICH WAS DECLARED A GLOBAL PANDEMIC BY THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION ON MARCH 11, 2020, AND THE RELATED RESPONSES BY PUBLIC HEALTH AND GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITIES TO CONTAIN AND COMBAT ITS OUTBREAK AND SPREAD, ADVERSELY AFFECTED WORKFORCES, ECONOMIES, AND FINANCIAL MARKETS GLOBALLY. THE SCHOOL WAS ABLE TO FINISH THE SCHOOL YEAR IN A REMOTE ENVIRONMENT WITH MINIMAL DISRUPTION TO STUDENT LEARNING. SUMMER PROGRAMMING WAS MORE LIMITED IN SCOPE THAN THAT OF PREVIOUS YEARS AS THE SCHOOL OFFERED CAMPS LIMITED TO A VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT. THE CAMPUS HAS RE-OPENED FOR IN-PERSON LEARNING AND A LIMITED NUMBER OF STUDENTS WORKING REMOTELY FOR THE 2020/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR WITH INCREASED SAFETY MEASURES IN PLACE.
