MOUNT EVANS HOME HEALTH SERVICES ASSISTS HOMEBOUND INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH MEDICAL AND SUPPORTIVE CARE REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. HOME HEALTH SERVICES ARE PROVIDED THROUGH, HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES AND OUTPATIENT THERAPY FOR THE UNDERINSURED AND UNINSURED. IN FISCAL YEAR 2019, WE PROVIDED A TOTAL OF 13,047 MEDICAL VISITS TO 920 PATIENTS IN OUR FOUR COUNTY SERVICE AREA. SOME WERE RECUPERATING FROM AN ILLNESS OR INJURY, WHILE OTHERS WERE COPING WITH A CHRONIC DISEASE. HOME HEALTH SERVICES PRESERVE PATIENT'S QUALITY OF LIFE BY HELPING THEM REMAIN IN FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS WITH FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS. PATIENT'S ATTITUDE AND CHANCES FOR RECOVERY IMPROVE. HOME HEALTH SERVICES SUPPORT THE PATIENT'S CAREGIVERS, REDUCING STRESS, DEPRESSION, AND ILLNESS DUE TO THE PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF FULL-TIME CAREGIVING. HOME HEALTH SERVICES REDUCE THE NEED FOR UNNECESSARY OUT-OF-HOME PLACEMENT IN NURSING HOMES OR RE-HOSPITALIZATIONS. VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTED SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF TIME TO MOUNT EVANS' PROGRAM SERVICES, ADMINISTRATION, AND FUNDRAISING AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES. MANAGEMENT HAS ESTIMATED THE VALUE OF SUCH SERVICES AT $293,594 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019.
MOUNT EVAN'S HOSPICE SERVICES PROVIDED 12,960 HOSPICE DAYS TO 231 PATIENTS IN FISCAL YEAR 2019. SOME PATIENTS WERE COPING WITH A CHRONIC DISEASE AND OTHERS HAD BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A TERMINAL ILLNESS AND DESIRED END-OF-LIFE CARE. FOR TERMINALLY ILL PATIENTS NEEDING AN INPATIENT FACILITY OR 24-HR NURSING CARE, MOUNT EVANS, PROVIDES HOSPICE CARE IN LIFE CARE CENTER OF EVERGREEN. PATIENTS ARE ALSO CARED FOR AT THE ASSISTED-LIVING FACILITIES OF ELK RUN AND DIGNITY HOMES.
MOUNT EVAN'S COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND BEREAVEMENT PROGRAM OFFERS INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING AND GROUP WORKSHOPS SUCH AS; BEREAVED SPOUSE SUPPORT GROUP, PARENTING AFTER LOSS GROUP, SURVIVING THE HOLIDAY'S WORKSHOP AND ALZHEIMER'S CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP. OUR AGENCY'S SUPPORT SERVICES CONTINUE TO EXPAND. IN 2019, MOUNT EVAN'S BEREAVEMENT SERVICES WERE USED BY 908 INDIVIDUALS IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING AND GROUPS. MOUNT EVANS ALSO OFFERED FOOT CARE AND BLOOD PRESSURE CLINICS, FAMILY CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP, EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS, FLU VACCINATIONS, INFORMATION AND REFERRAL, SAVVY CAREGIVERS WORKSHOP AND COORDINATED WITH EXEMPLA ST. JOSEPH MOBILE MAMMOGRAM UNIT.
