JEFFCO SCHOOLS FOUNDATION IS A NEARLY FORTY-YEAR PARTNER TO JEFFCO PUBLIC SCHOOLS. JEFFCO PUBLIC SCHOOLS SERVES 155 SCHOOLS REPRESENTING 84,000 STUDENTS AND EMPLOYING MORE THAN 14,000 INDIVIDUALS. IN 2019-20, JEFFCO SCHOOLS FOUNDATION PROVIDED SOME LEVEL OF SUPPORT AND PARTNERSHIP TO AT LEAST 80 PERCENT OF OUR SCHOOLS THROUGH OUR EXISTING PROGRAMS: JEFFCO SUMMER OF EARLY LEARNING; STEM SMART LABS, LEARNING ALLY, ART SHOWS, COSTUME SHOP, JEFFCO PARTNERSHIP COLLABORATIVE, SCHOLARSHIPS, SERVING KIDS, COLORADO OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP INITIATIVE, AND COVID-19 SUPPORT. JEFFCO SCHOOLS FOUNDATION DEFINES OUR SUPPORT VIA DIRECT FINANCIAL AND PROGRAMMATIC SUPPORT. SPECIFIC PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS CAN BE ACCESSED ON OUR WEBSITE, WWW.JEFFCOSCHOOLSFOUNDATION.ORG. OTHER - THE JEFFERSON FOUNDATION, DBA JEFFCO SCHOOLS FOUNDATION, FUNDRAISES SUPPORT FROM INDIVIDUALS, ORGANIZATIONS AND BUSINESSES TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS THAT SUPPORT SCHOOL READINESS AND ACADEMIC GROWTH, WITH A STRONG FOCUS IN LITERACY, READING, WRITING AND COMPREHENSION. THESE EFFORTS ALIGN WITH THE DISTRICT'S VISION 2020 PLAN, SUPPORT THE DISTRICT'S IMPROVEMENT PLAN AS REQUIRED BY THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT EDUCATION AND LEVERAGE SCHOOL BOARD GOALS IN THE AREA OF CAREER PATHWAYS, WORKING TO PREVENT HIGH SCHOOL DROP OUT AND INCREASE GRADUATION RATES. IN YEAR 2019-2020, THE FOUNDATION PROVIDED FUNDING FOR OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME ENRICHMENT, MICRO GRANTS TO SUPPORT SCHOOL OR CLASSROOM PROJECTS, LITERACY INTERVENTIONS, HIGH SCHOOL DROP OUT PREVENTION AND REENTRY, AND EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH AND DESIGN INCLUDING TEACHERS AND STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS, SPECIAL EDUCATION, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, AND LANGUAGE ARTS.
