SOCIAL SERVICES AGENCY DEVOTED TO CARE AND TREATMENT OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES

FOSTER CARE - FOSTER CARE PLACES CHILDREN IN HOMES ON A TEMPORARY BASIS AND PROVIDES COUNSELING FOR A VARIETY OF FAMILY ISSUES. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES TWO TYPES OF OUT-OF-HOME CARE, INCLUDING TRADITIONAL FOSTER CARE AND SPECIALIZED FOSTER CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL EMOTIONAL, BEHAVIORAL, OR MEDICAL NEEDS.IN FY2020, 2,258 CHILDREN WERE SERVED THROUGH THE HOSPITALITY OF 1,163 FOSTER HOMES; 613 NEW CHILDREN ENTERED THE AGENCY'S FOSTER CARE PROGRAM; 382 CHILDREN ACHIEVED PERMANENCY INCLUDING 134 WHO WERE ADOPTED. THIS PROGRAM IS PRIMARILY SUPPORTED BY THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES.

ST. JOHN BOSCO CHILDREN'S CENTER (SJBCC) - ST. JOHN BOSCO CHILDREN'S CENTER IN BELLEVILLE, IL PROVIDES A LOVING, CARING, AND STRUCTURED HOME FOR UP TO 36 BOYS AND GIRLS, AGES 6-18, WHO NEED TO HEAL FROM EXTREME TRAUMA. IF THEIR CONDITION IS TOO SEVERE FOR THEM TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN FOSTER CARE, WE CARE FOR THEM PERSONALLY AT SJBCC. AT THE SJBCC, THE CHILDREN RECEIVE INDIVIDUAL, GROUP AND FAMILY THERAPY, AS NEEDED, SO THAT THEY MAY BECOME PART OF A LOVING FAMILY. IT IS THE ONLY RESIDENTIAL CHILDREN'S CENTER SOUTH OF BLOOMINGTON, IL. IN FY2020, 11,966 DAYS OF RESIDENTIAL CARE WERE PROVIDED (24/7 CARE FOR AN AVERAGE OF 33 CHILDREN PER DAY). THIS PROGRAM IS PRIMARILY SUPPORTED BY THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES.

COMMUNITY INTEGRATED LIVING ARRANGEMENTS (CILAS) - CARITAS PROVIDES LIVING ARRANGEMENTS FOR ADULTS (AGE 18 OR OLDER) IN A GROUP HOME, FAMILY HOME, OR APARTMENT WHERE FOUR OR FEWER UNRELATED ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES LIVE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES AGENCY. QUALITY PROGRAMMING AND SUPPORT IS ALSO PROVIDED TO INTEGRATE RESIDENTS INTO THE COMMUNITY INSTEAD OF HOUSING THEM IN STATE INSTITUTIONS. THIS PROGRAM IS PRIMARILY SUPPORTED BY THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES.
