THE YWCA MCLEAN COUNTY IS DEDICATED TO ELIMINATING RACISM, EMPOWERING WOMEN AND PROMOTING PEACE, JUSTICE, FREEDOM AND DIGNITY FOR ALL.

THE SCHOOL AGE PROGRAM SERVED 215 STUDENTS AT NINE DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. THIS PROGRAM ALLOWED THEIR PARENTS TO WORK REGULARLY SCHEDULED HOURS AT THEIR PLACES OF EMPLOYMENT WITHOUT HAVING TO ARRIVE LATE, LEAVE EARLY OR MAKE OTHER ARRANGEMENTS FOR SUPERVISION OF THEIR CHILDREN WHEN UNABLE TO BE AT HOME. 34% RECEIVED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM PROVIDED EDUCATION AND ADVENTURE TO 90 STUDENTS, INCLUDING FIELD TRIPS ACROSS CENTRAL ILLINOIS. 34% RECEIVED SOME TYPE OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.
THE HERSHEY CHILD CARE PROGRAM FOR INFANT TO 5 YEAR OLD CHILDREN WAS OPERATED YEAR-ROUND IN THE MAIN YWCA FACILITY. 164 CHILDREN WERE SERVED WITH 34% RECEIVING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. 75% OF THE CHILDREN ENTERING KINDERGARTEN WERE EITHER ON TRACK DEVELOPMENTALLY OR WERE RECEIVING SERVICES TO ADDRESS THEIR NEEDS.
THE EMPOWERMENT, PREVENTION, & SEXUAL ASSAULT PROGRAM OF YWCA MCLEAN COUNTY IS COMPRISED OF THREE PARTS: STEPPING STONES, LABYRINTH AND PREVENTION EDUCATION. STEPPING STONES PROVIDES 24-HOUR ASSISTANCE FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND SEXUAL ABUSE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN MCLEAN COUNTY. SERVICES INCLUDE 24-HOUR HOTLINE, MEDICAL AND LEGAL ADVOCACY, COUNSELING, PREVENTION EDUCATION, AND VOLUNTEER ADVOCACY TRAINING. YWCA LABYRINTH OUTREACH SERVICES TO WOMEN OFFERS REINTEGRATION SERVICES TO FORMERLY INCARCERATED WOMEN RESIDING IN MCLEAN COUNTY WITH THE GOAL OF SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCING RECIDIVISM. WE HELP REBUILD EACH WOMAN'S DIGNITY AND NURTURE HER GROWTH AS SHE DEVELOPS THE ATTITUDES AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR PRODUCTIVE, INDEPENDENT LIVING. YWCA STEPPING STONES, KNOWS THAT AN IMPORTANT PIECE TO THE ELIMINATION OF SEXUAL ABUSE AND ASSAULT IS THROUGH EDUCATION, BEGINNING AT A YOUNG AGE. OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATION THROUGHOUT MCLEAN COUNTY TO CHILDREN FROM PRE-KINDERGARTEN THROUGH COLLEGE-AGE, AS WELL AS CIVIC GROUPS AND EMPLOYERS.
