Our mission is to establish a safe, nurturing environment where youth and young parents can be positively influenced to progressively increase their academic ability, economic development, social awareness, health awareness, and natural creative talents, through enhanced academic tutoring, occupational training, life coaching, healthy lifestyle, fine arts instruction, and college preparation.
We provided Job Readiness Training for over 80 youth and 20 adults who worked to improve their communities by doing community outreach in which they trained youth, peers, and adults in the Englewood Community on Mental Health, Youth living with Trauma, How to deal with stress and other violence prevention messages.
The One Summer Chicago Program is a special violence prevention program via youth summer employment targeting high risk youth who reside in the highest risk communities. Participants receive a 20-hour per week, seven -week work experience and are given additional assistance to help overcome barriers, complete the program and develop transferable career and life skills. Youth in this program receive intensive mentoring, job coaching and skill development in addition to employment.
The Fall After School is a program designed to keep youth safe after school and off the violent streets of Chicago, while helping with homework and instructing them on a vaule skill that could some day be used as a career. We serve about 80 youth.
