Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Chicago Foundation for Education (CFE) is an Illinois non-profit charitable organization established in 1985. CFE supports PreK through 12th Grade Chicago Public School educators with leadership, growth, and grant opportunities that translate into enhanced classroom experiences for students. With a lean staff and a volunteer cohort of more than 200, CFE offers an annual teacher-directed workshop and grant-based programs.

Small Grants - enable teachers to implement innovative, self-designed classroom and school-wide curricular projects. These grants help fund field trips, classroom libraries, student performances, in-class units, and everything in between.
Action Research Leadership Institute - develop the analytical capacity and leadership potential of Chicago's most outstanding educators. Participants conduct action research projects with students in their schools, with a keen focus on improving student experiences and enhancing success. Fellows are provided opportunities to share data and resulting policy recommendations with colleagues and other Chicago-area education leaders.
Study Group Grants - bring together teachers in professional learning communities to learn and respectively adapt effective instructional strategies. Study Groups are led by experienced teachers ("Coaches") who provide ongoing support and mentorship to other teacher participants ("Team Members").
