CHICAGO VETERANS SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENTPROGRAM (SCIP): SCIP IS DESIGNED TO HELP VETERANS BUILD POSITIVE SOCIAL SUPPORT SYSTEMS BY PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES TO ENGAGE AND CONNECT WITH OTHER VETERANS IN THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES. SCIP BUILDS ON THE BELIEF THAT COMMUNITY INVOLMENT IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO VETERAN EMPOWERMENT. IN 2019 CHICAGO VETERANS CONNECTED OVER 6,700 INDIVIDUAL VETERANS TO 56 LOCAL EVENTS ACROSS 37 CHICAGOLAND COMMUNITIES THAT FOCUSED ON THE PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL WELLBEING OF VETERANS
CHICAGO VETRANS EDUCATIONAL PEER MENTORSHIP PROGRAM (EPMP): EPMP ASSISTED VETERANS IN TWO WAYS; INDIVIDUAL PEER TO PEER MENTORSHIP(IPPM)AND GROUP MENTORSHIP (GM). IPP PROVIDES TARGETED GUIDANCE AND ASSISTANCE TO VETERANS WITH SPECIFIC NEEDS. THE IPP MENTOR ASSISTS THE MENTEE TO OBTAIN RESOURCES AND BENEFITS AVAILABLE TO VETERANS IN SPECIFIC SITUATIONS. THE GM PROGRAM PROVIDES INTERACTIVE GROUP WORKSHOPS, MEETUPS AND EVENTS. IN 2019 CHICAGO VETERANS CONNECTED OVER 1,100 TO 29 WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS FOCUSED ON VETERANS EDUCATION AND TRAINING.
CHICAGO VETRANS EMPLOYMENT READINESS PROGRAM (ERP): ERP HELPS VETERANS PREPARE FOR POST MILITARY CAREERS. ERP PRODUCES A SERIES OF WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS DESIGNED TO TEACH VETERANS PRACTICAL SKILLS, SUCH AS HOW TO WRITE A RESUME, HOW TO INTERVIEW AND, ONCE ON THE JOB, CAREER COACHING. EPR CREATES CAREER PIPELINES FOR VETERANS BY PROVIDING DIRECT ACCESS TO LOCAL EMPLOYERS THROUGH OUR VIRTUAL EMPLOYMENT BOARD, JOB FAIRS AND HIRING EVENTS. IN 2019 CHICAGO VETERANS HOSTED 1675 VETERANS IN 18 EMPLOYMENT FAIRS AND WORKSHOPS AND PROVIDED OVER 200 LOCAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FROM OVER 77 EMPLOYERS.
