THE MISSION OF CONCORDIA PLACE IS TO CREATE INVOLVED COMMUNITIES WHERE ALL OUR NEIGHBORS CAN GATHER, LEARN, AND GROW. SINCE 1981, CONCORDIA PLACE HAS STRUCTURED ITS PROGRAMS TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF LOW-INCOME AND WORKING FAMILIES. OUR SLIDING SCALE TUITION MODEL, ALIGNED WITH OUR MISSION, ELIMINATES ECONOMIC SEGREGATION AND ALLOWS CHILDREN TO THRIVE AS A RESULT OF ECONOMIC, ETHNIC AND FAITH DIVERSITY. IN 2006, WE UNDERWENT A MAJOR EXPANSION FROM A SINGLE CHILD CARE CENTER IN CHICAGO'S NORTH CENTER COMMUNITY TO A MULTI-SITE ORGANIZATION WHICH ALSO SERVES AVONDALE, LOGAN SQUARE, IRVING PARK, ALBANY PARK, AND OTHER SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

CHILDRENS PROGRAMSCONCORDIA PLACE CHANGES LIVES BY FOCUSING ON GROWTH AND OPPORTUNITY TO ENSURE THE COMMUNITIES THAT WE SERVE ARE A PLACE FOR ALL. WITH A BELIEF THAT QUALITY EDUCATION AND EQUITY GO HAND-IN-HAND, CONCORDIA WORKS TO MAKE QUALITY LEARNING ACCESSIBLE - REGARDLESS OF A FAMILY'S ECONOMIC STATUS. CONCORDIA USES PUBLIC FUNDING, ITS OWN SLIDING TUITION SCALE, AND, FOR FAMILIES THAT CAN AFFORD IT, CONCORDIA CHARGES MARKET-RATE TUITION.HOME VISITINGTHIS YEAR WE LAUNCHED A NEW PERSONALIZED, IN-HOME VISITING SERVICE TO EXPECTANT MOTHERS AND FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN TO OFFER CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND PARENTING SUPPORT.
