Organizations Filed Purposes:
YOUTH PERFORMING ARTS ORGANIZATION WORKING WITH GIRLS OF COLOR AGES 16-18 ON COMMUNICATION AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS.
Young Women on the Move is our afterschool, school-based, and summer program for girls ages 6-18. We held in-person and virtual sessions for a total of 625 youth, held five outdoor and 8 virtual performances and worked in four schools prior to school closings for COVID. We continued with virtual programming until the summer when we resumed in-person sessions.
Take the Stage stage is or coed program in partnrship with After School Matters. We worked with 72 teens ages 14 through 19 teaching performing arts and social/emotional skills. Those youth staged online performances and created original poetry and skits.
The Global Theatre Collaborative is our Community Theatre youth and adult performance companies. Youth who excel in the two other programs are invited to join the youth company and be the public face of Global Girls. Adults are recruited from the community, trained and selected for our adult company. They perform our theatre series and are booked to perform for other agencies and orgs. Both groups created virtual presentations which can be viewed on our YouTube page.
