Grassroots Illinois Action (GIA) coordinates voter engagement and get out the vote activities. Working with partner organizations, GIA provided digital, and online voter engagement activities statewide in 2020. GIA educated voters about the Fair Tax Amendment and provided Get Out the Vote Activities in Chicago and Peoria.Grassroots Illinois Action also provided community networking and resource sharing for its members and other neighbors during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Humboldt Park neighborhood in Chicago. GIA also held deep canvassing phone banks in the city of Peoria, to understand the key issues facing Peoria residents and to better understand the obstacles that prevent them from being more civically engaged.
