Organizations Filed Purposes:
To distribute funding appropriated by the state of Illinois to effective not-for-profit legal aid organizations. These funds directly help low-income families, victims of domestic violence, veterans and seniors address their legal crises. Illinois Equal Justice Foundation (IEJF) supports innovative, cost-effective legal aid programs that empower clients to resolve legal issues and regain control of their lives. These programs offer legal information, advice, representation and tools to help clients understand the legal system and their rights within it. The IEJF also educates decision-makers and stakeholders on the need for increased state funding to support these vital services.
