Organizations Filed Purposes: THE LINCOLN PARK CONSERVANCY IS DEDICATED TO PRESERVING, PROTECTING, AND ENHANCING THE NATURAL, HISTORICAL, AND CULTURAL ASSETS OF LINCOLN PARK WHILE PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. ESTABLISHED IN 1984, THE ORGANIZATION HAS PARTNERED WITH THE CHICAGO PARK DISTRICT FOR OVER 35 YEARS, PROVIDING ADDITIONAL STEWARDSHIP, SITE MANAGEMENT, RESOURCES, STAFF, PROGRAMS, AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF PRIVATELY CONTRIBUTED FUNDING IN SUPPORT OF MAJOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS WHICH THE ORGANIZATION OVERSEES AND THEN STEWARDS, LONG-TERM, UPON COMPLETION. THE ORGANIZATION'S VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTE THOUSANDS OF HOURS ANNUALLY THROUGH PARK STEWARDSHIP ACTIVITIES, VISITOR ENGAGEMENT, AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING FOR THE PUBLIC.

EDUCATION/VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS - 1) NORTH POND GARDENERS/LINCOLN PARK TREE CARE CORPS/CORPORATE WORKDAY PROGRAM:TRAIN AND MANAGE CORPS OF 1,500 VOLUNTEERS TO PLANT WILDFLOWERS, SEED, IDENTIFY AND REMOVE INVASIVE SPECIES, PRUNE AND MULCH TREES/SHRUBS, MAINTAIN NATIVE PLANTS IN URBAN PRAIRIES, WOODLANDS AND WETLANDS, AND EDUCATE THEM ON THE IMPORTANCE OF NATIVE PLANTS AND ANIMALS TO OUR ENVIRONMENT AND REGIONAL HISTORY. VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTED OVER 3,000 SERVICE HOURS TO THE PROGRAM IN 2019, ADDED OVER 5,000 NATIVE PLANTS & TREES, AND MULCHED 1,500 PARK TREES. 2) LINCOLN PARK DOCENTS: TRAIN AND MANAGE 150 VOLUNTEER DOCENTS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE ALFRED CALDWELL LILY POOL, A HISTORIC LANDMARK, LINCOLN PARK ONSERVATORY, AND OTHER LINCOLN PARK ASSETS. OVER 100 DOCENTS CONTRIBUTED 3,500 SERVICE HOURS TO THE PROGRAM IN 2019. $35,082.49

MAINTENANCE OF DONOR-RESTORED PARK SITES - STAFF RESTORED AND MAINTAINED THE ALFRED CALDWELL LILY POOL, NORTH POND NATURE SANCTUARY, AND OTHER PREVIOUS PROJECTS IN LINCOLN PARK.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLANNING - CREATED A CONCEPT PLAN FOR A NEW NATURAL PLAYSCAPE IN LINCOLN PARK. CONTINUED TO DEVELOP THE NORTH POND MASTER PLAN FOR THE REVITALIZATION OF THE NORTH POND NATURE SANCTUARY (15 ACRES) AND IMPROVEMENT OF 36 ACRES OF PUBLIC PARK LAND SURROUNDING IT.
