REBUILD BLACK COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE POWER OF THE BLACK CHURCH TO CREATE COMMUNITIES IN CHICAGO WHERE BLACK PEOPLE ARE FREE FROM ALL FORMS OF VIOLENCE.
LF convened monthly organizing groups to develop community based strategies to address gun violence and mass incarceration. Trained over 25 people on basic organizing principles. LF Launched the Fund Peace campaign to advocate for violence prevention funding. LF won 11.5M for violence prevention funding. Launched homicide response Chaplains. LF joined the Fully Free campaign that addresses collateral consequences to incarceration. Distributed thousands of face mask and hand sanitizers to Cook County Jail and communities most impacted. LF also joined the alliance for reentry which is a coalition addressing recidivism and reentry. LF began census efforts in East St. Louis, Illinois.
