THE NATIONAL MANUFACTURING RENAISSANCE COUNCIL IS A STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR PARTNERS COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING U.S. ADVANCED MANUFACTURING AND ALSO ACTS AS THE UMBRELLA ORGANIZATION FOR A NETWORK OF REGIONALLY FOCUSED MANUFACTURING RENAISSANCE COUNCIL (MRC) DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIPS. THE MRC MODEL UNITES BUSINESS, LABOR, GOVERNMENT, EDUCATION, AND COMMUNITY LEADERS IN OPERATING PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT THEIR REGIONAL ADVANCED MANUFACTURING SECTORS AND INCLUDES THE CHICAGO MRC; A COALITION OF BUSINESS, LABOR, GOVERNMENT, EDUCATION, AND COMMUNITY LEADERS WORKING TO MAKE CHICAGO THE GLOBAL LEADER IN ADVANCED MANUFACTURING. TODAY, THE CHICAGO MRC IS A LEADING VOICE ON REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION POLICY.

THE MANUFACTURING CONNECT (MC) PROGRAM AT AUSTIN POLYTECHNICAL ACADEMY PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH WORK-BASED LEARNING AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES, TRAINING FOR NATIONALLY-RECOGNIZED MACHINING CREDENTIALS THAT LEAD TO SUCCESS IN CAREERS AND COLLEGE PATHWAYS IN MANUFACTURING AND ENGINEERING-RELATED FIELDS. THE MC PROGRAM PARTNERS WITH OVER 50 LOCAL MANUFACTURING COMPANIES AND POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS TO PROVIDE THESE OPPORTUNITIES TO STUDENTS INCLUDING: FACILITY TOURS OF MANUFACTURING COMPANIES AND TRADE SHOWS, JOB SHADOWING EXPERIENCES, PAID INTERNSHIPS, SUMMER JOBS, TRAINING TO EARN NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR METALWORKING SKILLS (NIMS) CREDENTIALS, CAREER-TRACK EMPLOYMENT AFTER GRADUATION, AND ONGOING CAREER-SERVICES TO HELP GRADUATES NAVIGATE THEIR NEW CAREERS AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF TUITION REIMBURSEMENT AND SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES. THE AUSTIN MANUFACTURING TRAINING CENTER (AMTC) PROGRAM, AN ACCREDITED NIMS TRAINING PROGRAM, OPERATES OUT OF AUSTIN POLYTECH'S MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY CENTER TO PROVIDE LOCAL ADULTS TRAINING TO EARN UP TO FIVE NIMS CREDENTIALS TO OPERATE, SET-UP AND PROGRAM COMPUTER NUMERICALLY CONTROLLED (CNC) MACHINES, SKILLS IN HIGH-DEMAND IN TODAY'S MANUFACTURING SECTOR. THE END GOAL OF THE AMTC IS FOR GRADUATES TO BE PLACED IN LONG-TERM, HIGH-QUALITY MANUFACTURING JOBS.

AUSTIN MANUFACTURING INNOVATION PARK IS AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN THE AUSTIN NEIGHBORHOOD ON CHICAGO'S WEST SIDE. THIS INITIATIVE REPRESENTS A NEW MODEL FOR ACHIEVING LOCAL, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL GOALS FOR ECONOMIC, TECHNOLOGICAL, AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND WILL SERVE AS A CATALYST FOR INNOVATION BY PROVIDING A RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D) RESOURCE TO HELP REGIONAL MANUFACTURERS COMPETE IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY AND TRAIN LOCAL RESIDENTS IN ADVANCED MANUFACTURING SKILLS TO CREATE A SOPHISTICATED WORKFORCE FOR THE AUSTIN INNOVATION PARK AND REGIONAL MANUFACTURERS.
