Organizations Filed Purposes:
To provide a safe haven center for youth living in Chicago's west side Austin community, widely considered one of the most dangerous areas in all of Chicago for gangs, drugs, crime, and violence. We strive to provide this area's most vulnerable and at-risk youth with a place to complete their homework, work with a tutor to improve their study skills and subject comprehension, become exposed to STEM through enrichment activities and career ideas, learn valuable life skills, participate in small group peer discussions, receive a nutritious meal, and be positively engaged in various recreational and educational programs.
PCYC provides a safe haven fromgang violence and drug activity, an after school program for children, and a nutritious meal. We provide a place to complete their homework, improve their study skills and engage in various recreational and educational programs.
PCYC- The Peace Corner University is the largest program conducted at the Peace Corner. It provided a safe, educational, and recreational space for the youth of the Austin area. The program includes computer lab time, gym time, homework assistance, dance classes and science class.
Teen Reach - The Peace Corner corner obtained a grant to perform mentoring.
Best Kids Out of School Time provides afterschool mentoring programming for grade school kids and teens via one on one attention.
