The mission of The Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law is to provide access to law and law-related professions through emphasizing opportunity, academic excellence, and community engagement.
Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law ("SBVCL") is a California nonprofit corporation that operates as a law school with campus locations in Santa Barbara and Ventura, California. SBVCL provides high quality legal education delivered through two modalities: an evening, onsite option and a hybrid (70 percent online and 30 percent onsite)option, leading to the award of a Juris Doctor Degree and eligibility to sit for the California State Bar Examination. SBVCL also offers a Master of Legal Studies via distance learning.(See continuation on Schedule O)Founded to provide an opportunity for men and women of all ages, backgrounds, and life experiences to enter the legal profession, SBVCL seeks to develop graduates who will be competent practitioners and who recognize and adhere to the high level of ethics, professional responsibility, and civic duty our society expects of lawyers. During the fiscal year ended May 31, 2019, SBVCL provided education to over 300 students.
