The mission is to open doors and minds through the culinary arts. Mentorship, education, and job placement are some of the methods we use to help the youth become the chefs of tomorrow.
The mission is to open doors and inspire minds through the culinary arts.
Youth cooking competitions. High school students that wish to compete with one of our volunteer chefs are given training, encouragement and support to participate in friendly cooking competitions. This provides experience and exposure to additional culinary professionals. The goal is to expand the process to many cities. We have volunteer chefs around the world. As we build the program the competition will grow to reach more students that need it. The students get experience and mentorship through this process.
The foundation started an award-winning inaugural educational program at The Montessori School of Englewood in Chicagos Far Southside. In partnership with the Museum of Science & Industry, The University of Illinois Extension Program, and Chicagos Master Gardeners, we have created a program that increases the Englewood communitys sense of food security, agriculture education, and informative programming around sustainable practices and nutrition. In the past year our garden, students, and staff have been recognized on local tv and more.
Scholarship program. This program will provide funds to pay for students looking to attend local culinary schools. We are building a referral program for internships to allow students to get paid internships from our volunteer chefs. This will give them hands on culinary industry experience from some of the best chefs in the world. We work directly with culinary and hospital schools.
