ICOY PROMOTES THE SAFETY, HEALTH, AND SUCCESS OF ILLINOIS' CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND FAMILIES BY ACTING AS A COLLECTIVE VOICE FOR POLICY AND PRACTICE, AND BY CONNECTING AND STRENGTHENING THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT SERVE THEM.
ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES- YOUTH SERVICES RESOURCE CENTER- PROVIDES SUPPORT, SERVICES AND ASSISTANCE TO COMMUNITY BASED YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS AND THE ILLINOIS JUVENILE JUSTICE COMMISSION.
COMMUNITY CAPACITY BUILDING WAS A ONE YEAR PROGRAM INITIATIVE TO ENHANCE ILLINOIS PROVIDERS TO BE BETTER ABLE TO ADDRESS VIOLENCE PREVENTION THROUGH 1) ENHANCED SCOPE OF AFTER SCHOOL PROVIDERS AND ACTIVITIES THROUGH PROVIDING WORKSHOPS ON GRANT WRITING AND PARTNERING WITH ACTNOW TO CONTINUE STATEWIDE AFTER SCHOOL ADVOCACY PROGRAMS, 2) WORK WITH THE JUVENILE JUSTICE COLLABORATIVE TO PROVIDE AN ASSESSMENT OF IMPACT OF WORK AND FACILTATE TRAINING FOR A GROUP OF 10 PROVIDERS AND 3) PARTNERING WITH HEALTH MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATES TO DETERMINE THE REDINESS TO IMPLEMENT MEDICAID OF OVER 130 PROVIDERS. THIS RESULTED ALSO IN THE LAUNCH OF THE MEDICAID TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTER (MTAC) FOR ALL ILLINOIS HUMAN SERVICE PROVIDERS. THE PURPOSE OF THE MTAC IS TO HELP ALL ILLINOIS PROVIDERS THRIVE IN A MEDICAID MANAGED CARE BILLING ENVIRONMENT. WE PLAN TO EASE THE BURDEN OF MEDICAID BILLING FOR PROVIDERS AT ALL READINESS LEVELS THIS INCLUDES THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER BILLED MEDICAID.WITH THE INPUT FROM READINESS SURVEY, WHICH FOUND THAT 60% OF ILLINOIS' HUMAN SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE NOT READY TO BILL MEDICAID MANAGED CARE (MMC), ICOY IS MOVING INTO PHASE II OF THE MTAC, WHICH INCLUDES ADVOCATING FOR PROVIDER CAPACITY BUILDING RESOURCES TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND NEW ADMINISTRATION. ALL PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION WILL BE BASED ON THE REPORTED NEEDS OF THE PROVIDER COMMUNITY.
THE ADMINISTRATION FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES GRANT PROVIDES FOR A RANDOM CONTROL TRIAL TO EVALUATE A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH TO SERVING FAMILIES AT RISK OF CHILD REMOVAL INTO FOSTER CARE, WHEN THE PARENT(S) HAS AN IDENTIFIED SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER.
