THROUGH ITS ANNUAL COMMUNITY-WIDE CAMPAIGN AND OTHER GIVING OPTIONS, UNITED WAY OF DECATUR AND MID ILLINOIS PROVIDES THE OPPORTUNITY FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO INVEST IN SELF-SUFFICIENCY, EDUCATION, HEALTH, SAFETY, AND BASIC NEEDS PROGRAMS. PROGRAMS FUNDED THROUGH COMMUNITY IMPACT INVESTMENT ARE RESEARCHED AND MONITORED BY KNOWLEDGEABLE VOLUNTEERS WHO ENSURE THAT DOLLARS ARE WELL SPENT TO PRODUCE REAL RESULTS AND THAT EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT, GOVERNANCE, AND FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY STANDARDS ARE UPHEL
COMMUNITY INVESTMENT: THE UNITED WAY OF DECATUR AND MID ILLINOIS INVESTS FUNDS IN PROGRAMS THAT SHOW MEASUREABLE OUTCOMES CREATING POSITIVE CHANGE IN OUR COMMUNITY. THESE PROGRAMS FALL INTO ONE OF FIVE VISION AREAS: EDUCATION, SELF-SUFFICIENCY, HEALTH, SAFETY, OR BASIC SERVICES. A FOOD DRIVE COMMITTEE REVIEWS APPLICATIONS FROM FOOD PANTRIES AND ALLOCATES FUNDING TO THE PANTRIES AFTER BOARD REVIEW.
