CONNECTIONS FOR THE HOMELESS SERVES AND CATALYZES OUR COMMUNITY TO END HOMELESSNESS, ONE PERSON AT A TIME. WE PREVENT EVICTIONS, OFFER DAYTIME AND OVERNIGHT SHELTER SERVICES, AND PROVIDE HOUSING TO MORE THAN 2,500 PEOPLE ANNUALLY.
WE PREVENT EVICTIONS AND PROVIDE SHELTER AND HOUSING TO 1,500 PEOPLE ANNUALLY.
EVICTION PREVENTION SERVICES SUPPORT HOUSEHOLDS WHO ARE AT EMINENT RISK FOR LOSING THEIR HOME OR HAVE RECENTLY BECOME HOMELESS. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED FOR PAYMENTS OF RENT, MORTGAGE AND/OR UTILITY ARREARS, OR FOR SECURITY DEPOSIT AND MOVE-IN FEES.
COMMUNITY AND SHELTER - OUTREACH, DROP-IN, AND SHELTER SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. PARTICIPANTS CAN ACCESS CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES, WHICH INCLUDE ASSESSMENTS FOR VARIOUS HOUSING PROGRAMS, AND ARE PROVIDED WITH BASIC NEEDS SUCH AS FOOD, CLOTHING, SHOWERS, LAUNDRY, AND HYGIENE PRODUCTS. HEALTH SERVICES ARE ALSO AVAILABLE AND PROVIDED BY LICENSED PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONERS TO MEET IMMEDIATE HEALTH NEEDS. OVERNIGHT SHELTER IS AVAILABLE AT HILDA'S PLACE, AN 18-BED SHELTER FOR MALE-IDENTIFYING PARTICIPANTS TO STAY AS LONG AS THEY NEED TO IDENTIFY A HOUSING SOLUTION.
HOUSING - CONNECTIONS OPERATES A RANGE OF HOUSING PROGRAMS TO MOVE PEOPLE FROM HOMELESSNESS TO HOUSING. PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING IS PROVIDED TO CHRONICALLY HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IMPACTED BY DISABILITY. TRANSITIONAL HOUSING THROUGH A TENANT-BASED RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES IN EVANSTON'S PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS. TRANSITIONAL HOUSING IS ALSO AVAILABLE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGES 18 TO 24. WRAP-AROUND SERVICES AND CASE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT ARE PROVIDED TO ALL PARTICIPANTS.RAPID REHOUSING SERVICES SUPPORT HOUSEHOLDS WHO ARE RECENTLY HOMELESS IN QUICKLY GAINING ACCESS TO HOUSING. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED FOR SECURITY DEPOSIT, MOVE-IN FEES, RENT AND UTILITIES.
