THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS AN EMPOWERED, ENGAGED COMMUNITY THAT COLLABORATES ACROSS SECTORS TO DEFINE PROBLEMS AND DEVELOP SOLUTIONS. THE FOUNDATION SERVES AS FISCAL SPONSOR FOR EVANSTON CRADLE TO CAREER, A COLLECTIVE IMPACT ORGANIZATION SUPPORTING COLLABORATION AMONG MORE THAN 40 CIVIC, EDUCATION, AND NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WORKING TOGETHER WITH COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO IMPROVE THE FUTURE FOR ALL EVANSTON YOUTH. Our grants (see 4a) and workshops (see 4d) support collaborative efforts across the community.
The Foundation fosters private philanthropy and builds endowed funds to sustain our community. The Foundation's endowed funds, together with current gifts from philanthropic partners, enable the Foundation to build, connect and distribute resources and knowledge through local organizations for the good of Evanston. In 2019 the Foundation's grantmaking partners increased their participation in support of our grant cycles; donors continued their giving to existing endowments benefitting Evanston; three new donor advised funds were established; and, existing donor advised funds increased through new gifts.
