Organizations Filed Purposes:
To prepare youth ages 14-25 for success in the workplace. Youth Job Center provides job-readiness, placement and employment support in partnership with employers.
Youth Job Center is in 5 high schools in Chicago. In this program, YJC provides workshops and training with the school day. This is augmented with additional support before and after school for youth ages 14-18.
YJC receives funding from the Chicago-Cook Workforce Partnership (WIOA). This program helps job seekers who face significant barriers, gain the support, skills and education necessary to obtain and retain employment. Qualified candidates may receive up to two years of funding to receive training, attend colleges and technical programs or enter jobs with ongoing support. This program provides subsidized internships and work experiences with employer partners through its career pathways program.
This Way Ahead Program - This Way Ahead program is a partnership with GAP. The program provides training and summer internships throughout the Chicagoland area. This program is for high school students ages 16-18 who are recruited from many high schools in the Chicagoland area.
