Organizations Filed Purposes:
A scientific research organization dedicated to understanding the chemical senses of smell, taste, trigeminal irritation and internal chemoreception from the fundamentals of neurobiology to complex behavior.
Planned and established infrastructure for annual meeting which was to be held in June 2020 in Portland Oregon. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was canceled and rescheduled as a virtual meeting after the end of the fiscal year.
Published and distributed a journal and newsletter highlighting the activities of the organization. Also maintained the organization website to provide pertinent information to members including links to various clinics, research centers, training programs, publications, articles, etc.
Provided two travel grants (each up to $2000) for junior AChemS members (student,post-doc, or regular within 10 years of terminal degrees) who work in the North America and will present as a primary author at the European Chemoreception Research Organization meeting in September 2019 held in Trieste, Italy.
