Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) is a not-for-profit membership organization established to educate, promote the safety of and support the owners and pilots of certified aircraft manufactured by Cirrus.
COPA hosts an annual meeting for all members. In 2019 the Migration involved over 460 participants and 150 aircraft. The program included an annual meeting that elected new directors and reviewed past year accomplishments, informational seminars, a vendor trade show related to Cirrus aircraft, and a social program including a Cirrus Life event.
COPA social events bring together pilots with their family and friends who become involved in traveling to interesting locations. Annually, these events include the EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh, WI, the European Migration, Sun 'n Fun in Florida, as well as trips to foreign countries including the Bahamas, Mexico, and Churchill, Canada. Other destinations in the past have included Mackinac Island, Nemacolin Resort, Pella, IA, the Kennedy Space Center, Jekell Island, Albuquerque Balloon Festival, Durango Railroad Festival, and several other impromptu events.
COPA membership grew to over 5,300 paid members in 2019. COPA members receive access to an online virtual community as well as a bi-monthly magazine. The online website provides discussion forums, event calendars, blogs, knowledge repository, and multimedia files. The Cirrus Pilot magazine published 360 pages of articles about enjoying flying & Cirrus technical and safety information.
