Organizations Filed Purposes: The Lake County Children's Advocacy Center is committed to providing a safe environment for child victims of sexual and physical abuse. The goal of the center is to investigate and help successfully prosecute sex offenders and physical abusers without further trauma to the child.

The LCCAC provided an interagency coordinated response, referred to as MDT, for children under the age of 18 when there has been an allegation of sexual abuse, physical abuse or a child has witnessed a major crime. The MDT representatives (Law Enforcement, DCFS, Advocates, Medical, Mental Health, Lake County States Attorneys Office) contribute their knowledge, experience, and expertise for a coordinated, comprehensive, compassionate and professional response to ensure the childs safety. In 2019, the LCCAC served approximately 1,200 children for forensic interviews and and 400 additional for counseling and groups. Not included in the above expenses are contributed services paid directly by the Lake County State's Attorney Office (LCSAO) in the amount of $794,594. This is net of $88,319 reimbursed by the Organization. A grant of $307,501 from the Illinois Criminal Information Authority was paid to the LCSAO towards these services, which include salaries & benefits and occupancy costs. The County of Lake also provides office space at no cost at an estimated value of $48,000, for total contributed services of $842,594 ($794,594 + $48,000).
