FOR PROGRAM YEAR 2019, THE ORGANIZATION PROCESSED 263 COMPLAINTS, CONDUCTED 152 TEST PART INVESTIGATIONS; FILED 2 FORMAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND 4 FEDERAL COURT ACTIONS ALLEGING VIOLATIONS OF THE FAIR HOUSING ACT; ASSISTED 91 MORTGAGE DISTRESSED HOMEOWNERS; RESOLVED 10 PENDING ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS. EDUCATION AND OUTREACH ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE: 1,394 INDIVIDUALS ATTENDING FAIR HOUSING PRESENTATION EVENTS RECEIVING PRINTED MATERIALS; AN ADDITIONAL 4,511 INFORMATION PRINT MATERIAL PACKETS DISTRIBUTED; 9,274 FAIR HOUSING OR LENDING INFORMATION VISITS TO OUR WEBSITE; AND FAIR HOUSING/LENDING INFORMATION DISTRIBUTED TO 5,431 ADDRESSES THROUGH EMAIL OUTREACH EFFORTS.
HOUSING COUNSELING PROGRAM: PRIMARILY FUNDED BY MULTIPLE SMALL DOLLAR GRANTS AND FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES. INCLUDES THE PROVISION OF THE FOLLOWING COMPREHENSIVE HUD-CERTIFIED HOUSING COUNSELING ACTIVITIES: INDIVIDUAL ONE-ON-ONE RENTAL AND HOMELESS REFERRALS; PRE- AND POST-PURCHASE HOMEOWNERSHIP COUNSELING; MORTGAGE DELINQUENCY AND FORECLOSURE COUNSELING; AS WELL AS GROUP COUNSELING ACTIVITIES INCLUDING HOME BUYER WORKSHOPS AND FORECLOSURE ASSISTANCE AND MORTGAGE FRAUD AWARENESS WORKSHOPS. FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019, COUNSELING SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO 1,092 FAMILIES, OF WHICH 335 WERE FACING FORECLOSURE, 466 SEEKING RENTAL/HOMELESS REFERRALS AND 291 SEEKING TO PURCHASE A HOME, RESUTLNG IN 36 NEW HOMEOWNERS AND 194 HOMES SAVE THROUGH MORTGAGE MODIFICATIONS AND RESOLUTIONS. OVER 450 INDIVIDUALS ATTENDED 24 EDUCATION AND OUTREACH EVENTS. AS A SPONSOR AGENCY FOR IHDA'S HARDEST HIT PROGRAM, 271 APPLICATIONS WERE PROCESSED IN 2019 RESULTING IN 158 CLIENTS OBTAINING MORTGAGE RELIEF IN THE AMOUNT OF 3,550,033.12.
INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM: SUBSTANTIALLY FUNDED BY A 2013 CONCILIATION AGREEMENT. PHASE TWO OF THE GRANT PROGRAM, WHICH PROVIDES GRANTS TO EXISTING HOMEOWNERS IN MORTGAGE DISTRESS IN TARGETED COMMUNITIES HARDEST HIT BY THE FORECLOSURE CRISIS, WAS LAUNCHED IN THE 1ST QUARTER OF 2016. TEN (10) GRANTS WERE PROVIDED TO DISTRESSED HOMEOWNERS IN TEN (10) TARGETED COMMUNITIES IN 2019, FOR A TOTAL OF 105,775, ALLOWING THE GRANT RECIPIENTS TO AVOID LOSING THEIR HOME TO FORECLOSURE OR PROPERTY TAX SALES.
