Organizations Filed Purposes: The mission of the Gamma Mu chapter of Phi Kappa Tau is to champion a lifelong commitment to brotherhood, learning, ethical leadership, and exemplary character.

As a social fraternity, we have a chapter house at Bradley University. Many of our expenses as a social fraternity are related to keeping this thirty plus year old house upright, as it takes constant beating from thirty men living in it. We also take part in various community service and Bradley related events. In addition, we raise money for the SeriousFun Network philanthropy, and even take a trip during our spring break to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut to provide free labor to upkeep the camp. As members of Phi Kappa Tau, our mission is to be recognized as a leadership organization that binds men together and challenges them to improve their campuses and the world.

One of our largest programs by expense is Work Week. Before Bradley classes start and freshman arrive on campus, our members take part in restoring our house. Members voluntarily work eight hours a day, all week, and build various additions and repairs to the house. While not classified as part of brotherhood expenses, this annual tradition surely builds bonds amongst members. In addition, Work Week puts the house in a state ideal for the beginning of recruitment, where our chapter has its opportunity to gain new members.

Recruitment is the second largest program by expense. Block Party begins Recruitment, and it is an event where we buy a huge blow up monkey (our fraternity mascot), as well as give out food and drinks to prospective members. The next part of Recruitment is formal rounds, where prospective members come and tour the house in guided tours by the Bradley Inter-Fraternity Council. At this time we once again give out free food and drinks. The final part (and most expensive) part of Recruitment is informal rounds. This is a week long process where prospective members come to the chapter house for various events, such as free catered meals and basketball tournaments.

Another program that we have is our involvement with Bradley's Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC), as well as intramural sports here at Bradley. Being part of the IFC means that we have access to a multitude of leagues for a multitude of sports, such as softball, football, and basketball. All of these sports have a variety of skill levels (A, B, C teams). There is a fee for being a part of IFC, as well as for participating in all of these leagues.
