Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MORRIS HOSPITAL FOUNDATION WAS FORMED TO FOSTER, PROMOTE,DEVELOP, AND ACCEPT FUNDS FOR THE SUPPORT OF HEALTH CARE PROGRAMS,EDUCATION AND RESEARCH AT MORRIS HOSPITAL.

THE MORRIS HOSPITAL FOUNDATION'S PURPOSE IS TO PROMOTE AND ACCEPT PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT FOR MORRIS HOSPITAL & HEALTHCARE CENTERS.

THE MORRIS HOSPITAL FOUNDATION WAS CREATED IN 1994 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING AND ACCEPTING PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT FOR THE HEALTHCARE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES OF MORRIS HOSPITAL & HEALTHCARE CENTERS. THROUGH VARIOUS APPEALS, GRANTS, INDIVIDUAL AND CORPORATE CULTIVATION AND SOLICITATION, AND ONGOING STEWARDSHIP OF DONORS' GIFTS; THE FOUNDATION ENGAGES THE COMMUNITY IN THE NEED FOR PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT OF MORRIS HOSPITAL. EACH YEAR, THE FOUNDATION WORKS TO FUND PROGRAMS AND PURCHASES WHICH MAY NOT OTHERWISE BE POSSIBLE OR WOULD REQUIRE MORE TIME TO COMPLETE IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF DONORS. IN 2019, THE FOUNDATION DISBURSED $573,991 TO THE HOSPITAL FOR VARIOUS PROGRAMS AND SERVICES INCLUDING: $102,719 FOR A NEW PATIENT TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE AND ROUTEMATCH TABLETS, WHICH PROVIDES FREE RIDES TO AND FROM MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS FOR THE COMMUNITY; $16,947 IN EMERGENCY/DISASTER HARDSHIP RELIEF FUNDS TO ASSIST AUXILIANS AND EMPLOYEES FACING A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP BECAUSE OF A CRISIS; $25,500 IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS ENGAGED IN A HEALTH RELATED COURSE OF STUDY; $50,000 FOR A NEW OMNIBED ISOLETTE IN THE FAMILY BIRTHING SUITES WHICH IS USED FOR PREMATURE NEWBORNS; $3,206 FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH ACTIVITIES; $136,540 FOR THE MEDICATION DISPENSING PROGRAM WHICH HELPS COMMUNITY MEMBERS MAINTAIN THE PROPER MEDICATION SCHEDULE USING AN AUTOMATIC, PERSONAL PILL DISPENSING UNIT THAT ACCURATELY DISPENSES MEDICINE AT DESIGNATED TIMES USING AN ALERT SYSTEM; $1,232 FOR RHYTHM OF OUR YOUTH, A FREE CARDIAC SCREENING PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE COMMUNITY; $5,550 FOR STOP THE BLEED EMERGENCY KITS DISTRIBUTED TO LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL CLASSROOMS; MORE THAN $140,000 FOR ICU BEDS; AND $9,500 FOR CAMP 911, A SAFETY PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES STUDENTS A MORNING OF FUN AND INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES THAT HELP TEACH THEM ABOUT 911, FIRST AID AND WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. THE 20 MEMBER VOLUNTEER FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS CONTINUES TO MAKE PROGRESS EACH YEAR TOWARDS ITS VISION OF BECOMING A MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO THE MORRIS HOSPITAL'S SUCCESS. AND, SUCH WAS THE CASE IN 2019.
