Organizations Filed Purposes:
Servantworks challenges people to live radically like Jesus, by beginning ministries of service and sacrifice following His example, in order to transform families and communities. Our current focus is the hurting people of Thailand and SE Asia.
The WELL Program- Displays the love of Jesus to the broken, oppressed and poor of Thailand through material, relational and spiritual rehabilitation. Prostitution rescue in Thailand through the Well Program displays the love of Jesus to men, women and their families involved in the Thai sex industry through rescue and rehabilitation services that provide food, clothing, housing, addiction recovery and emotional healing through counseling, career education & training and spiritual development. Many of these services are expected to be initiated at the Coffee Shop community ministry just getting started during the last half of 2019. Included under the umbrella of The Well ministries are accounts directed at special developmental needs of the recipients of The Well services. Included here are The GRACE fund and Future Leaders fund.
Narimon Program/Community Center Bangkok- Provides women who have left the Thai sex industry a way to earn income while maintaining their dignity. This program provides alternative income-producing opportunities for women and girls who either once were forced to sell their dignity or are at high risk for doing so. Through Narimon the women and girls create handmade products that they can be proud of, and begin to understand that they are valuable beyond measure. The products are sold primarily in the United States in conjunction with public awareness programs that encourage prayers and action against the Thai sex trade. The shift in product emphasis from jewelry towards convenience snack food products sold locally begun during 2018 has continued during 2019.
Breakthrough Project- Seeks to reduce the flow of sex industry recruits from the poorest rural areas of Thailand. In the past our personnel conducted sports and educational related programs in small villages in order to build relationships with both the youth and the parents and grandparents of the villages. Once relationships were built the dignity of successful agricultural endeavors or small cottage industries within the rural economy were demonstrated and promoted. Through these efforts we deterred young girls from seeking high incomes in the major cities of Thailand. Such "big city" work usually results in being lured into the sex industry. This "grass roots" effort was discontinued during 2019 due to staffing issues.
