CAREER PATHWAYS: PARTNERING WITH THE NAPERVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICTS 203 AND 204-DEVELOPED AN AUTHENTIC WORKPLACE LEARNING COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS PROGRAM FOR 60 HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR AND SENIORS TO EXPOSE THEM TO DIFFERENT CAREERS. THIS PROGRAM HELPS STUDENTS DEVELOP EMPLOYABLE SKILLS AND READIES THEM FOR EITHER COLLEGE OR A CAREER.RESILIENT YOUTH: KIDSMATTER TRAINED AND CERTIFIED 41 TEACHERS ON A HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL RESEARCHED CURRICULUM. RESILIENT YOUTH IS BASED ON STRESS/ ANXIETY, WHAT IT DOES TO THE BODY AND TEACHING HEALTH COPING SKILLS. AS A RESULT, RESILIENT YOUTH WAS IMPLEMENTED INTO PE HEALTH CLASSES IN 2020 WHERE 6,395 STUDENTS WENT THROUGH THE TRAINING. COLLABORATIVE YOUTH TEAM: LEADING THE COALITION OF 35 YOUTH-SERVING NON-PROFIT AGENCIES IN DUPAGE AND WILL COUNTIES, KIDSMATTER WORKS WITH THESE ORGANIZATIONS TO PROMOTE AND ADVOCATE FOR THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF KIDS AND FAMILIES. THIS YEAR WE DISTRIBUTED 2,150 STRESS RELIEF CARE PACKAGES TO YOUTH AND FAMILIES THROUGH OUT DUPAGE & WILL COUNTIES. STRESS MANAGEMENT SURVEY: FOR 4,800 STUDENTS IN DISTRICTS 203 AND 204 TO BENEFIT YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES. OUR MOST RECENT STUDY REVEALED THAT 70% OF SEVENTH-GRADE STUDENTS AND 77% OF TENTH-GRADE STUDENTS REPORTED MEDIUM TO HIGH LEVELS OF DAILY STRESS WITH PRESSURE COMING MAINLY FROM THEIR PARENTS, THEMSELVES, AND THROUGH PARENTAL CONFLICT. ADDITONALLY, 50% REPORTED RARELY OR NEVER TALKING WITH SOMEONE ABOUT THEIR STRESS.THE CRISIS TEXT LINE WAS LAUNCHED AS AN OUTCOME OF THE STRESS MANAGEMENT SURVEY. THE LINE HAS RECEIVED 1,154 CONVERSATIONS FROM 396 TEXTERS AND HAS PRODUCED EIGHT (8) ACTIVE SAVES SINCE ITS LAUNCH. THE LINE IS FOR ANYONE WHO IS IN CRISIS. IT PROVIDES A TRAINED COUNSELOR, AT THE END OF THE LINE, WHO IS READY TO LISTEN, WITHOUT YOU EVEN SPEAKING BY TEXTING "REACH" TO 741 741 FROM ANYWHERE IN THE US.HELD 12 EDUCATIONAL FORUMS ON TOPICS THAT ARE RELEVANT IN OUR COMMUNITY INCLUDING: MENTAL HEALTH AND SUICIDE PREVENTION, RESILIENCE, DIGITAL AWARENESS, GENDER & SEXUALITY, STRESS MANAGEMENT AND VAPING, SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND ADDICTION. THESE FORUMS ARE CONDUCTED IN SCHOOLS, THE FAITH-BASED COMMUNITIES AND WITHIN NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN THE AREA.
