OPRFCF PROVIDES A CENTRAL RESOURCE FOR DONORS, PROFESSIONAL FINANCIAL ADVISORS, STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS AND NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS SERVING OAK PARK AND RIVER FOREST. FOR DONORS, WE PROVIDE VALUE AND EXPERTISE IN HELPING THEM EXPLORE AND IMPLEMENT GIVING OPTIONS. FOR NON-PROFITS SERVING OUR RESIDENTS, WE PROVIDE INFORMATIVE AND TOPICAL PRESENTATIONS THROUGH OUR IMPACT EXCELLENCE PROGRAM, MANAGE ENDOWMENT FUNDS FOR SEVERAL AND PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO APPLY FOR AND RECEIVE GRANTS. WE ALSO MANAGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS FOR SEVERAL OF OUR FUNDHOLDERS.
SUCCESS OF ALL YOUTH (SAY) IS A COMMUNITY COLLECTIVE IMPACT EFFORT ADDRESSING THE SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL, ACADEMIC, AND HEALTH & SAFETY NEEDS OF YOUTH FROM CRADLE TO CAREER. ONE FULL TIME DIRECTOR AND ONE PART TIME COMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANT SUPPORTED THE WORK OF THE INITIATIVE. (INCLUDES DIRECT SALARY/BENEFIT AND OTHER OPERATIONS COSTS)D OTHER OPERATIONS COSTS)
IMPACT EXCELLENCE HOSTED SEVEN CAPACITY BUILDING SESSIONS IN 2019 FOR 62 NONPROFITS THAT WORK IN OAK PARK, RIVER FOREST AND OUR SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES. THE SESSIONS WERE ATTENDED BY 174 PEOPLE AND COVERED A RANGE OF TOPICS INCLUDING CREATING AN EQUITABLE AND INCLUSIVE SOCIAL SECTOR; GRANT WRITING 101; HOW TO DEVELOP A FUNDRAISING STRATEGY; GET MARKETING READY. TWO BOARD BOOT CAMPS WERE ALSO OFFERED ON THE TOPIC BOARD COMPOSITION AND RECRUITMENT: ACCELERATING BOARD DIVERSITY FOR GREATER IMPACT. ADDITIONALLY, THE FOUNDATION IN COLLABORATION WITH THE COMMUNITY HEALTH BOARD OF OAK PARK, HOSTED 2 TRAINING SESSIONS FOR 24 PARTICIPANTS FROM NINE DONOR ORGANIZATIONS FROM THE GREATER WEST-SIDE REGION, ON THE FOLLOWING TOPICS I) IMPACTS OF FUNDING A HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE ON EVALUATION; ADDRESSING THE MOST CRITICAL NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY; USE OF QUALITATIVE AND NARRATIVE INFORMATION; AND COLLABORATION FOR COLLECTIVE IMPACT II) NEEDS ASSESSMENTS COMMUNITY BASED PARTICIPATORY RESEARCH; PARTICIPATORY METHODOLOGY; AND PRINCIPLES OF ETHICAL AND EQUITABLE RESEARCH PARTNERSHIPS.
