THE NURSE ANESTHESIA PROFESSION ALSOSUPPORTS PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL POLICY WHICH ENABLES MAXIMUMUTILIZATION OF CRNA'S AND THEIR ABILITY TO WORK WITHIN THEIR FULL ANDLEGAL SCOPE OF PRACTICE. TODAY, NEARLY 150 YEARSAFTER THE PROFESSION'S HUMBLE YET HEROIC BEGINNINGS ON THE BATTLEFIELDSOF THE CIVIL WAR, CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE ANESTHETISTS (CRNA'S) ARETHE HANDS-ON PROVIDERS OF MORE THAN 32 MILLION ANESTHETICS GIVEN TOPATIENTS EACH YEAR IN THE UNITED STATES.
