Educational Programs: The Peoria Riverfront Museum provides lifelong learning educational opportunities in the arts, history, science and achievement. The opportunities include an emphasis on K-12 learning for the schools, public and parochial, as well as homeschool coops, in a 20-county central Illinois area for an average of 30,000 students on an annual basis.
Giant Screen Theater: The Peoria Riverfront Museum includes a Giant Screen Theater. The content presented in the Giant Screen Theater is reviewed by the museum's Programs staff to help ensure that it supports the mission of the museum. The content includes documentaries made for a giant screen, films that enhance current exhibitions, classic or second-run movies that meet the mission, and an occasional first-run Hollywood movie that takes full advantage of the giant screen's technical capabilities. Revenue includes Concession sales.
Exhibitions/Memberships/Museum Shop: The Peoria Riverfront Museum provides exhibits, activities and programs in six different galleries including a temporary exhibit gallery, a fine art/folk art gallery, a history gallery named The Street, a hands-on, interactive gallery named The IHSA Peak Performance Center, the Illinois River Encounter, and the Discovery worlds for younger visitors, and a digital dome planetarium. On an annual basis, the museum serves 180,000 visitors onsite, 5,000 people through outreach programs, and more than 60,000 through website visits.
