Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH THE QUINCY BOAT CLUB WAS ORGANIZED IS TO PROMOTE AND FOSTER AQUATIC SPORTS OF ALL KINDS, TO PROMOTE BOATING SAFETY, TO GUARD AND PROTECT THE INTEREST OF MEMBERS WHO ARE OWNERS OF PLEASURE BOATS, TO INCULCATE AMONG ITS MEMBERS A KNOWLEDGE OF RULES OF NAVIGATION, TO IMPROVE AND BEAUTIFY THE RIVER FRONT.
AFTER THE 2019 FLOOD WATERS OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER DESTROYED THE BUILDING THAT HAD BEEN THE HOME OF THE QUINCY BOAT CLUB FOR MANY YEARS, 2020 HAS BEEN A YEAR OF TRANISTION. WE SPENT THE FIRST PART OF 2020 CLEANING UP THE SITE OF THE DESTROYED BUILDING AND BEGAN THE PROCESS OF PRICING THE REBUILDING ON THE CURRENT SITE. WHEN COVID STRUCK OUR COMMUNITY LIKE OTHERS, THE BUSINESS NEXT TO US BECAME AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE. A DEAL WAS STRUCK AND WE BOUGHT THE BUILDING ON 10/16/2020, AND SPENT THE REST OF 2020 GETTING THE BUILDING READY FOR OUR NEEDS. THIS BUILDING IS BUILT OUT OF THE FLOOD PLANE SO WE WILL NOT HAVE TO ENDURE THE DAMAGES OF FLOODWATERS EVER AGAIN. OUR PLANS FOR 2021 AND MOVING FORWARD ARE TO HAVE SAFE BOATING CLASSES AND TO HOST THE SKI CLUB AGAIN
