Organizations Filed Purposes: TO BRING FINE SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRAL AND CHORAL MUSIC TO THE PEOPLE OF QUINCY AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, TO PROVIDE ORGANIZATIONS FOR LOCAL MUSICIANS TO PERFORM SUCH MUSIC, AND TO CREATE AND SUPPORT PROGRAMS THAT ENCOURAGE YOUNG MUSICIANS TO CONTINUE FOSTERING THEIR INTEREST AND SKILLS IN SYMPHONIC AND CHORAL MUSIC.

TO BRING FINE SYMPHONIC AND CHORAL MUSIC TO THE QUINCY AREA, TO PROVIDE ENSEMBLES FOR LOCAL MUSICIANS TO PERFORM, AND TO OFFER PROGRAMS THAT ENCOURAGE YOUNG MUSICIANS' INTEREST AND SKILLS IN SUCH MUSIC.

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND CHORUS EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ON THE STUDY AND CULTURE OF INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL MUSIC. RECEIVED STATE-WIDE RECOGNITION FROM ILLINOIS COUNCIL OF ORCHESTRAS AS ILLINOIS'S COMMUNITY ORCHESTRA OF THE YEAR DUE TO PROGRAMMING, COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES, AUDIENCE GROWTH, FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT. OVER 280 FAMILIES INVOLVED IN OUR FIVE BRANCHES AND BOARD. DESPITE CANCELLING 4 CONCERTS DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, ACHIEVED HIGHEST TICKET SALES IN OUR HISTORY & RECORD LEVELS OF INDIVIDUAL GIVING. ENDOWMENT FUND RECEIVED OVER 100,000 IN GIFTS. COLLABORATED WITH 3 HAND BELL CHOIRS AND A DANCE STUDIO. PERFORMED "DISNEY IN CONCERT" MULTIMEDIA CONCERT. COMMISSIONED NEW ORCHESTRAL & CHORUS WORKS FROM 2 COMPOSERS. OUTREACH INCLUDED CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES, ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE, FREE ADMISSION FOR AGE 18 AND UNDER TO ALL CONCERTS (597 ADMISSIONS) AND DISCOUNTS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS. 3300 CHILDREN REGISTERED FROM 9 COUNTIES FOR EDUCATIONAL CONCERTS CANCELLED TWO WEEKS BEFOREHAND DUE TO COVID-19. DURING THE MAY SHUTDOWN - COLLABORATIVE PROJECT WITH WGEM-TV PRODUCED THREE 1-HOUR PUBLIC BROADCASTS OF PAST ORCHESTRA & CHORUS PERFORMANCES.

QUINCY AREA YOUTH ORCHESTRA PROVIDED MUSIC INSTRUCTION & PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES TO AREA STUDENT MUSICIANS IN GRADES 7 THROUGH 12. THE QAYO REHEARSED WEEKLY FROM NOVEMBER TO MARCH. STUDENTS WITH FINANCIAL NEED RECEIVED FREE TUITION. QAYO TRAVELED TO MACOMB, IL IN JANUARY FOR A DAY OF SECTIONALS AND COACHING BY THE MUSIC FACULTY OF WESTERN IL UNIV. PERFORMED SIDE BY SIDE WITH THE QUINCY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA IN FEBRUARY. MUSICIANS WERE FROM 11 SCHOOLS, 7 COUNTIES. FINAL SPRING CONCERT CANCELLED 1 WEEK PRIOR TO MARCH DATE DUE TO COVID-19.

QUINCY AREA YOUTH CHORUS CONCERT CHOIR (GRADES 7 TO 12) AND KINDERCHOR (GRADES 3 TO 7) PERFORMED FALL CONCERT FEATURING SONGS IN SEVERAL LANGUAGES. STUDENTS WITH FINANCIAL NEED RECEIVED FREE TUITION. STUDENT MUSICIANS FROM 30 SCHOOLS, 8 COUNTIES. SPRING REHEARSAL SCHEDULE WAS SUBSTANTIAL BUT TRUNCATED AND APRIL CONCERT CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19. "VIRTUAL CHOIR" PERFORMANCE PRODUCED BY CONCERT CHOIR IN MAY.
