Organizations Filed Purposes: WORLDWIDE FISTULA FUND PROTECTS AND RESTORES THE HEALTH AND DIGNITY OF THE WORLD'S MOST VULNERABLE WOMEN BY PREVENTING AND TREATING DEVASTATING CHILDBIRTH INJURIES.

WORLDWIDE FISTULA FUND (WFF) OPENED A NEW FISTULA HOSPITAL IN DANJA, NIGER, IN 2012 OFFERING FREE FISTULA REPAIR SURGERY, REHABILITATION, AND A REINTEGRATION/VOCATIONAL SKILLS PROGRAM. 1,710 SURGERIES HAVE BEEN PERFORMED SINCE OPENING IN 2012. WORLDWIDE FISTULA FUND SUPPORTED TRAINING FOR DANJA FISTULA CENTER'S AFRICAN SURGEON TO BECOME A CERTIFIED EXPERT IN FISTULA SURGERY. ALL PATIENTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN VOCATIONAL SKILLS THEY CAN USE TO GENERATE INCOME, BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE, AND HELP THEM REINTEGRATE INTO THEIR COMMUNITIES.

SINCE 2010, WFF HAS STRATEGICALLY PARTNERED TO DEVELOP A UGANDAN NGO FROM A REGIONAL TO A NATIONAL PROGRAM PROVIDING SURGICAL TREATMENT, REINTEGRATION/VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING AND COMMUNITY HEALTH ADVOCACY TRAINING. WFF HELPED LAUNCH THE REINTEGRATION CENTER IN SOROTI, UGANDA IN 2013 WHICH SUPPORTS COUNSELING, LITERACY EDUCATION, AND ENTREPRENURIAL SKILLS TRAINING FOR WOMEN WITH FISTULAS, AS WELL AS TRAINING FOR COMMUNITY-BASED ADVOCATES TO PROVIDE PREVENTION EDUCATION, TREATMENT REFERRAL, AND SURVIVER SUPPORT NETWORK PROGRAMS. OUR UGANDAN PARTNER OPENED A NEW FISTULA HOSPITAL IN 2019 WHERE SURGERIES AND REINTEGRATION ARE UNDER ONE ROOF. WFF HAS SUPPORTED 1,242 SURGERIES AND 776 WOMEN RECEIVED REINTEGRATION TRAINING TO DATE.

AFTER PROVIDING OVER 1,000 FREE FISTULA SURGERIES, WFF'S KENYAN PARTNER SUPPORTS ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AND REINTEGRATION SERVICES TO 29 REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES AND 216 SURVIVORS THROUGH SOLIDARITY GROUPS. THESE GROUPS PROMOTE AND SUPPORT INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP INCOME GENERATING ACTIVITES (IGAS) FOR ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE AND SECURITY. SOLIDARITY GROUPS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER 148 INDIVIDUAL AND 18 GROUP IGAS SUPPORITNG 162 WOMEN. NINETY-TWO WOMEN HAVE ESTABLISHED SAVINGS ACCOUNTS. GROUPS PROVIDE SAFE MOTHERHOOD PREVENTION PROGRAMMING TO COMMUNITIES, EDUCATING NEARLY 75,000 ANNUALLY.
