TO OPTIMIZE THE HEALTH OF SCI/D PATIENTS THROUGH EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH.

ORGANIZE AND ADMINISTER AN ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE TO ADVANCE SPINAL CORD HEALTH CARE, PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCI PROFESSIONALS, PROVIDE A FORUM FOR NETWORKING, IMPROVE ACCESS TO QUALITY HEALTH CARE, DISSEMINATE INFORMATION AND ENCOURAGE SCI-RELATED RESEARCH. CONTINUING EDUCATION IS AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, THE PURPOSES OF WHICH ARE TO:1. PROMOTE PROFESSIONAL GROWTH2. IMPROVE QUALITY OF CARE BY EXPANDING CLINICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTITUDES3. ENSURE OPTIMUM PATIENT OUTCOMES BY IMPROVING CLINICAL PERFORMANCE, DIAGNOSTIC SKILLS AND ANALYTIC RESOURCES4. ENCOURAGE THE CONTINUED COMPETENCY AND EXPERTISE OF CLINICIANS5. ADVANCE THE EFFECTIVENESS AND SAFETY OF PATIENT CARE6. PROVIDE ACCOUNTABILITY IN THE FIELD OF SCI HEALTH CARE, ITS PRACTITIONERS, PATIENTS AND THE PUBLIC; MAINTAIN KNOWLEDGE OF ADVANCES IN SPINAL CORD INJURY RESEARCH7. FACILITATE IMPLEMENTATION OF RESEARCH IN THE CLINICAL ARENAANNUAL CONFERENCE - ASCIP IS THE ONLY INTERDISCIPLINARY ASSOCIATION WITH A FOCUS ON SPINAL CORD INJURY AND DISEASE CARE AND RESEARCH. ASCIP HAS AN ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE THAT PROVIDES ENHANCED EDUCATIONAL, RESEARCH AND CLINICAL INFORMATION TO ITS ATTENDEES.THE JOURNAL OF SPINAL CORD MEDICINE IS A PREMIER BI-MONTHLY PUBLICATION FOR SPINAL CORD INJURY PROFESSIONALS INCLUDING PHYSICIANS, SCIENTISTS, PSYCHOLOGISTS, SOCIAL WORKERS, RESEARCHERS, NURSES AND THERAPISTS. ITS MISSION IS TO PUBLISH PEER-REVIEWED ARTICLES ENCOMPASSING THE FIELD OF SPINAL CORD MEDICINE LEADING TO EXCELLENCE IN PRACTICE, EDUCATION, RESEARCH, POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION.
