Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES PROGRAMS IN THREE INTERLOCKING AREAS: PUBLIC POLICY AND SYSTEM CHANGE, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND MEMBERSHIP PROGRAMS TO STRENGTHEN INDEPENDENT LIVING CENTERS THROUGHOUT ILLINOIS, AND PUBLIC EDUCATION ABOUT INDEPENDENT LIVING AND SERVICES AND SUPPORT NEEDED BY PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TO LIVE IN THE COMMUNITY.
TO PROMOTE, THROUGH THE INDEPENDENT LIVING MOVEMENT, EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND CIVIL RIGHTS FOR ALL PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.
TO PROMOTE, THROUGH THE INDEPENDENT LIVING MOVEMENT, EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES. EDUCATION TO PROMOTE EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES, EMPOWERMENT, AND CIVIL RIGHTS FOR ALL PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES WITHIN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS. WE PROVIDE FUNDING, TRAINING, AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO A NETWORK OF INDEPENDENT LIVING ORGANIZATIONS. THE PERSONAL ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM RECRUITS AND TRAINS PERSONS IN THE COMMUNITY WHO ARE INTERSTED IN ASSISTING INDIVIDUALS WITH AREAS OF DAILY LIVING. A HOME SERVICES PROGRAM (HSP) IS ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE CURRICULUM FOR THE PERSONAL ASSISTANTS. A STATEWIDE PROTOCOL IS ESTABLISHED TO ADDRESS CONSISTENT PRACTICE REGARDING THE DISTRIBUTION OF PROVIDER REFERRAL LISTS TO HSP CUSTOMERS.
THE ILLINOIS COVID RESPONSE FUND PROGRAM CONSISTS OF TWO GRANTS AWARDED FROM THE CHICAGO COMMUNITY TRUST. THIS PROGRAM WAS USED TO ADDRESS CRITICAL NEEDS FOR COVID-19 RESPONSES WITHIN THE INDEPENDENT LIVING COMMUNITITES.
THE EMERGENCY PROVIDER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM PROVIDES HSP CUSTOMERS AFFECTED BY THE NOVEL CORORNAVIRUS (COVID-19) WITH ACCESS TO ONE-ON-ONE ASSISTANE, IN IDENTIFYING AND RECEIVING SERVICES OF EMERGENCY PROVIDERS, IN THE EVENT THEIR PRIMARY OR BACKUP INDIVIDUAL PROVIDERS ARE AFFECTED BY COVID-19 OUTBREAK. THIS ADDITIONAL ACCESS TO CARE WILL ENSURE HSP CUSTOMERS ARE ABLE TO MAINTAIN THEIR INDEPENDENCE IN THE HOMES.
