Organizations Filed Purposes: To provide aquatic programming of all types through which each participant is given equal opportunity to pursue and achieve excellence, both in and out of the water by supporting programming through fundraising, stewardship and volunteerism.

St. Charles Aquatics (SCA) provides a comprehensive swim and waterpolo instruction program to enable athletes to participate in competitive aquatic events. Currently SCA serves over 245 swimmers, 267 swim lesson students, 72 water polo players, and 18 divers. In addition to the competitive aquatics program, lessons are offered year round. Athletes must "try out" for the competitive program. Those who are not admitted to the competition teams are refered to the lesson program. On average per week, 12 hours are devoted to swim lessons, 20 hours to swim team training, eight hours to waterpolo instruction, and three hours to diving instruction. 15 special needs athletes from the community are currently being served through the swim lesson program. SCA donates time and coaching one evening per week to coach and instruct the local special needs recreational swim team.

St. Charles Aquatics (SCA) competes in both swim meets and waterpolo meets. During 2019, SCA hosted four multi-day/multi-session, large, Invitational-style meets per year, plus five one day/single session, smaller, dual-style meets. The larger meets served 525-750 athletes per meet. The smaller meets served 150-240 athletes. Volunteers are responsible for running the meets and volunteering at meets is a requirement for membership. Large meets require a minimum of 250 volunteers, not including officials, who are also volunteers. Total volunteer hours per large meet are approximately 700-1,200 hours. By participating in meets, the athletes learn the value of hard work and develop sportsmanship skills.

St. Charles Aquatics (SCA) invests in its coaching staff through continuing education in swimming and waterpolo. Coaches receive annual training in CPR and athletic training technique to promote a safe learning environment for the athletes and to improve the quality of the instruction provided to SCA members.
