Organizations Filed Purposes: Our vision is inspired by Jesus's desire that all "may have life and have it more abundantly" found in John 10:10. Through FARM STEW training, the world's poor and vulnerable people will have the skills needed to address the root causes of hunger, disease, and poverty.

FARM STEW International's mission is to improve the health and well being of poor families and vulnerable people by sharing the recipe of abundant life throughout the world.

FREEDOM FROM DEPENDENCY: FARM STEW hires and educates trainers who promote the eight "ingredients" of FARM STEW's recipe for abundant life; Farming, Attitude, Rest, Meals, Sanitation, Temperance, Enterprise, and Water. The trainers conduct hands-on, Bible-based, and science-informed classes, freely sharing practical skills. In 2019 they trained over 35,000 daily participants in over 1,500 classes. They equip poor and vulnerable people so that, without creating dependency, people can help themselves. These funds are used for staff, transport, supplies like seeds and agricultural inputs. Each of our FARM STEW Training Teams will lead hands-on agricultural, nutrition, and hygiene training ($37/class) 4 days per week. They engage at least 60 FARM STEW volunteers who work house-to-house to implement FARM STEW. The total effort and supplies for each African team costs approximately $5,000 per month.

FREEDOM FROM SHAME: Provide washable pads and menstrual hygiene education to over 3,000 girls. For many African girls, their entrance into puberty often leads to their exit from school. Shame and fear make attendance during their menstrual cycle not an option, so they fall behind and drop out in large numbers. From that point on, their future is bleak. So how does FARM STEW reach girls with this important topic? First, we encourage them to buy locally from a reputable maker of menstrual hygiene supplies. We use AFRIpads, based in Uganda, that sells a Deluxe Menstrual Kit containing three Maxi Pads, one Super Maxi Pad, and a discreet carrying bag. They are washable and last over a year. AFRIpads is an enterprise in Uganda that also creates employment for over 200 African women in good jobs. Second, the effort must include underwear (or knickers) because we learned that many of the girls don't have them! Using pads without them is impossible. Finally, we must have local trainers to provide Bible-based health education. This is the most important part because we are changing attitudes and behavior that can lead to abundant life. As you reach girls and women, you will be echoing the words of Jesus, when He freed the woman from her shame. "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your affliction." Mark 5:34

FREEDOM TO SHARE: FARM STEW Basic Curriculum contains detailed guidance for the recipe for abundant life. It's designed so anyone can learn and apply the lessons of FARM STEW as "Planters" who can effectively share the recipe in their context and language. During 2019 we engaged a team of experts (volunteer and paid consultants) to develop and distribute FARM STEW Basic (through E-learning farmstew.teachable.com and hard copy). We also paid for translation. It is being accessed by people in many countries already.
