Preserve the 1866 county courthouse; preserve and promote local history.

Conduct genealogy research for individuals and assist others with their research; provide and store information and materials for research. We served 875 people via emails, web site, letters and personal visits, providing copies of records, obituaries, etc.
Put on programs covering topics relevant to society patrons: three "one-on-one" workshops for genealogical research, conducted a local cemetery walk, hosted programs on doing genealogy research, interesting people from the county, and a former First Lady.
Operating and maintaining the historical building while maintaining and displaying memorabilia of local history. Approximately 300 visitors came through the museum during the year, down considerably due to the pandemic. Building is usually open Monday through Friday, six hours per day, as well as the first Sunday of the month for three hours, however we were closed for several months in 2020.
