Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MISSION OF PADS LAKE COUNTY IS TO STAND AS A COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES TRAUMA-INFORMED SUPPORT, RESOURCES, AND SHELTER TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES EXPERIENCING A HOUSING CRISIS. WE ENVISION A COMMUNITY IN WHICH HOMELESSNESS IS RARE, BRIEF AND NON-RECURRING; ONE IN WHICH ANYONE WHO MAY EXPERIENCE A HOUSING CRISIS HAS TIMELY ACCESS TO THE PROPER RESOURCES AND SERVICES BASED ON THEIR INDIVIDUAL NEED.PADS WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CLIENTS AS THEY STRIVE TO ACHIEVE THEIR FULLEST POTENTIAL AS INDIVIDUALS AND AS MEMBERS OF THEIR COMMUNITY. AS THE ONLY LAKE COUNTY SHELTER OPEN 365 DAYS A YEAR, PADS CLIENTS ARE ABLE TO MEET WITH A CASE MANAGER, ACCESS SHOWER AND LAUNDRY FACILITIES, RECEIVE ASSISTANCE WITH MEDICAL CARE AND OBTAIN TRANSPORTATION AND REFERRALS TO MAINSTREAM RESOURCES AND BENEFITS. IN ADDITION, PADS COLLABORATES WITH OTHER COMMUNITY AGENCIES TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TRAINING, TECHNICAL EDUCATION CLASSES AND JOB PLACEMENT.

PROVIDE EMERGENCY SHELTER AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AND INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS IN LAKE COUNTY.

PADS LAKE COUNTY IS THE ONLY NON-RESTRICTIVE NIGHT-BY-NIGHT EMERGENCY SHELTER IN LAKE COUNTY. PRIOR TO THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY DECLARATION, IN COOPERATION WITH COMMUNITY 'CHURCH SITE' PARTNERS, PADS LAKE COUNTY FACILITATED SHELTER FOR ALL ELIGIBLE CLIENTS IN NEED WITH UP TO 100 PEOPLE PER NIGHT RECEIVING SHELTER BEGINNING IN OCTOBER AND CONTINUING THROUGH THE COLD WEATHER MONTHS. UP TO 30 BEDS WERE OFFERED IN THE WARMER MONTHS. SINCE THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY DECLARATION IN MARCH 2020, THE ORGANIZATION HAS BEEN PROVIDING SHELTER TO ALL ELIGIBLE CLIENTS IN NEED IN HOTELS WITH UP TO 170 PEOPLE RECEIVING SHELTER ON ANY GIVEN NIGHT BETWEEN MARCH AND JUNE 2020.ADDITIONALLY, THE DAY RESOURCE CENTER IS OPEN FIVE DAYS A WEEK PROVIDING ADVOCACY, CASE MANAGEMENT, REFERRAL, AND FOLLOW-UP SERVICES AS WELL AS ASSISTANCE IN GAINING ACCESS TO MAINSTREAM BENEFITS.

PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING: PROGRAM FOR TWENTY-THREE ADULTS WHO ARE CHRONICALLY HOMELESS AND HAVE A DISABILITY.
