JLE-NS Thrift House: Provides donated, quality, low cost goods and volunteers to run the thrift store. The store serves the surrounding communities focusing on low income individuals and families in need. The thrift store gives the JLE-NS the opportunity to offer a voucher program to assist other non-profit organizations such as the local domestic violence shelter. Large bags of useful goods were also donated to our community partners.

JLE-NS Community Programs and Activities: Provides support for advancing employment and supporting families. The Fitting Futures Committee partnered with four agencies and hosted a fitting event which outfitted 12 clients with job attire and accessories. The Baby Steps event supported 15 at risk moms who were provided education and showered with essential items for caring for a new baby. The education was provided by guest speakers on various relevant topics. Members collected over 200 purses which were filled with personal items and vouchers to the Thrift House. The purses were distributed to several community organizations. Members volunteered to sort books at Bernies Book Bank and packed 1800 poulds of food at Northern Illinois Food Bank.

JLE-NS Volunteer Relation: Provides training and education to promote volunteer relations for the benefit of community programs and sponsorship activities.Members mobilized a COVID 19 Task Force which raised $7500 for the community shelters. Over 100 greeting cards were gathered and delivered to Clearbrroks Community Integrated Living Arrangement program to brighten the spirits of the group home residents.
