HELD 3 MAJOR CONFERENCES: NANOG75 IN SAN FRANCISCO, CA, NANOG76 IN WASHINGTON DC, & NANOG77 IN AUSTIN, TX - THESE CONFERENCES ARE NETWORKING CONFERENCES THAT PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO FURTHER ENHANCE NETWORKING DISCUSSIONS. PROVIDED FOR A RICH SET OF PRESENTATIONS EXPLORING CURRENT AND RELEVANT TOPICS. NANOG75 HAD 1,304 ATTENDEES, NANOG76 HAD 917 ATTENDEES, AND NANOG77 HAD 1,164 ATTENDEES. 68,400 IN DONATED SERVICES WERE USED FOR THESE CONFERENCES.
THE NANOG COLLEGE IMMERSION (NCI) PROGRAM SEEKS TO PROVIDE AN ENTRYWAY FOR HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS TO LEARN THE WORLD OF NETWORK OPERATIONS. THERE ARE MANY FACETS TO THIS PROGRAM WHICH INCLUDE TUTORIALS, CLASSES, KEYNOTES, GENERAL SESSION CONTENT, AND TRACKS. IN ADDITION, THERE ARE REGULARLY SCHEDULED SOCIALS AND EVENTS THAT MAY BE OF INTEREST TO THOSE PARTICIPATING IN NCI. THIS PROGRAM AIMS TO PROVIDE THE NEXT-GENERATION OF NETWORK OPERATORS WITH AN EDGE IN TODAY'S HIGHLY COMPETITIVE MARKET. SIXTY- TWO STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROGRAM IN 2019.
FOR PROGRAM OUTREACH, NANOG PARTICIPATED IN TWO CARIBNOG EVENTS IN BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS AND ST. JOHN'S, ANTIQUA. THESE EVENTS WERE THREE-DAY EVENTS FOCUSING ON CYBERSECURITY, NETWORK RESILIENCY ISSUES CENTRAL TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF MORE OPEN, AND SECURE CARIBBEAN NETWORKS. NETWORK ADMINISTRATORS, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGERS, COMPUTER ENGINEERS AND SECURITY PROFESSIONALS FROM ACROSS THE REGIONS WERE IN ATTENDANCE. NANOG U BRINGS TALKS AND HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS ON THE LATEST INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES TO COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ACROSS NORTH AMERICA. NANOG U PRESENTED AT THREE UNIVERSITIES COVERING THE MOST CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS AND CHALLENGES IN NETWORK ENGINEERING AND OPERATIONS DESIGNED FOR BOTH UNDERGRAD AND GRADUATE STUDENTS. THE STUDENTS WERE INSPIRED TO INVESTIGATE A WHOLE NEW WORLD OF CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE FIELD OF IT.
