The mission of the Marian E. Burch Adult Day Care Center is to keep the elderly or infirm of Calhoun County, Michigan in their own homes for as long as possible, providing the highest quality of life for the individual and their caregivers. The organization provides daily activities, therapies, medical assessment and monitoring as well as transportation to and from the facility
The Marian E. Burch Adult Day Care Center provides Adult Day Care services which include: physical, occupational, and recreational therapies for adults aged 18 and above. Personal care services, medical supervision, family counseling, educational day trips, and transportation to and from the Center are also provided.
The organization provides funds for payment of Adult Day Care services and transportation for our elderly and infirm clients. These services allow caregivers to receive respite from their duties or continue with employment obligations. These services also allow for daily medication monitoring and for the social interaction of adults who would otherwise be lonely and unable to get out on their own. Many of our clients are from low income situations, and payment for their services is provided by fund raising revenue, memorial donations, grants, and investment income.
The organization provides transportation to and from the Center for a majority of the clients and all transportation to outside activities. Vehicles belonging to the Center are handicapped accessible. The expenses are for depreciation and vehicle related expenses. This year the Center received a grant from the Michigan Department if Transportation for vehicle replacement.
The organization purchased COVID-19 sanitizing equipment which was used to keep the office and activity areas free from contamination. The organization received a grant to purchase this equipment.
