Organizations Filed Purposes:
To promote a common interest of maintaining and improving medical staff skills, performance, knowledge, quality of care, and cost efficiency through peer review, education, certification of completion, establishment of standards, and professional interchange.
Chelsea Medical Staff Trust was formed by members of the medical staff of Saint Joseph Mercy Chelsea to promote excellence in the medical profession and to improve the quality of medical care available in the community.
Again the largest portion of work and money this year was focused on the major revisions to the Medical Staff Bylaws and legal meetings between our two parent corporations regarding the same this work must occur every three years major revisions have not taken place in over ten years and with the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital merging with Michigan Medicine, significant changes were included. New Medical Staff Bylaws were approved in November 2019. The organization hosted two major networking events for our physicians, recognized members for their length of service to the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital and our community, and provided updates and education during these two sessions. In addition, it provided annual stipends for the Medical Executive Committee offices and contributed 10,000 to the Saint Joseph Mercy Chelsea fundraiser to benefit renovations of the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit.
